PRAYER OF THE WEEK
Lord, open my eyes to see the people that the world rejects as you see them. And if, with my eyes open, I feel convicted, help me to respond with grace and love. Amen.

NOTES ON THE SCRIPTURE















​Jeremiah 29:1, 4-7 -  “After the Disaster,”: “Work for the Good of the City.”  "Build houses ... plant gardens ... take wives ... multiply there .... Seek the welfare of this city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its [Babylon's] welfare you will find your welfare."

Psalm 66:1-12 - Praise in the midst of trouble.

2 Timothy 2:8-15  - “Leaders Persevering,”: “Don’t Let Suffering Deter You.” "Remember Jesus Christ, raised from the dead ... the word of God is not chained ... the saying is sure: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure ... if we deny ... if we are faithless ..."

Luke 17:11-19 -  “Keep on…” : “Keep on Healing All.” We hear of the cleansing of ten lepers and the thanks of the one who is a despised foreigner.
